The Priory Church of
ST. BARTHOLOMEW THE GREAT
Founded 1123 AD
Inside
The view up the Nave on entering.
On the day I was there a very impressive flower arrangement was being made by the Altar
Looking back down, with the organ loft at the top.
The Organ Loft
In front of the main Nave there is another smaller one
An Icon to one side
I've no idea about what these represent, but perhaps some more
knowledgeable will tell me
A fascinating feature of this church is that it was an old Priory Church and I understand that this bay window was fitted, centuries ago, by the last Prior so he could watch what was going on in the Church
Some of the columing and arching of the entrance showing the decay of the years
And of an internal screen wall
