Archway
In the 1890's the Great North Road, now the A1, was put into a deep cutting passing through the main body of Highgate, a hill side and top community. Spanning which a cast iron arch bridge was installed. The area has now become know as Archway. The bridge connects Highgate with Crouch End.
Approaching from the south on a very unusually quiet morning (19Aug99)
After passing under I held the camera out of the car window, more in hope than anger.
Approaching from Crouch End. It's amazing how small the road is, considering its usual loading.
The view looking North.
to the south looking over Holloway to the City in the distance
