Street scenes in the Clerkenwell and Farringdon area
At the time of taking these pictures and writing the pages, most of London seems to be in the throws of being dug up, torn down or rebuilt. Note the road works in some of the pictures.-
Clerkenwell Close
Some of the Georgian
(?) buildings in Clerkenwell Close, very typical of the area
The area is quite well serviced by buses, but the main way most people get to the area for work is by underground (tube or electric wheels) since the roads are small and very congested. The local station being Farringdon:-
Ok so now use this one to go onto to the Station and travel
Cowcross Street, at the corner of the station, turn left here (or click) to get to Clerkenwell Green via Turnmill Street
Farringdon Road and the Guardian
Building from the roof of the Old Sessions House
I do NOT recommend that you cross over to nose around the other side of The Farringdon Road with you wife, girlfriend or other such in tow. Or if you do, LEAVE ALL MONEY, PLASTIC and other
convertibles behind. You have been WARNED!!
